Use modern detergents capable of hygienic cleaning without chlorine bleach
Use of a laundry bag is recommended to protect hardware

Disposal Guidance
Slings that are grossly contaminated with blood or bodily fluids must be discarded and treated as biohazard waste, regardless of infectious status.
“Grossly contaminated” includes items that are:
Saturated, dripping, or caked with blood or bodily fluids
Capable of releasing fluids when compressed
Likely to shed material during handling
